Short explanation

phpMyFAQ before version 4.1.9 contains an SQL injection vulnerability in PdoMysql::escape(). Unauthenticated attackers can send a Unicode right single quotation mark in the search parameter of api/autocomplete to read credentials, modify records, or drop tables.

Why does it matter?

Allowing unauthenticated attackers to access sensitive credentials, alter database records, or drop tables poses a severe threat to database confidentiality and integrity.

What should be done?

  • Follow official vendor security advisories
  • Upgrade phpMyFAQ to unaffected versions
  • Review database configurations and operational modes

Kimliği doğrulanmamış saldırganlar api/autocomplete parametresi üzerinden kimlik bilgilerini okuyabilir veya tabloları silebilir.

Yama durumu hakkında resmi kaynaklarda incelenen veriler doğrultusunda kesin bir sonuca ulaşılamamıştır.

Show the technical text from the sources

phpMyFAQ before 4.1.9 contains an SQL injection vulnerability in PdoMysql::escape(), which escapes single quotes with backslashes that are treated literally when MySQL or MariaDB runs in NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES mode. Unauthenticated attackers can send a Unicode right single quotation mark in the search parameter of api/autocomplete, which is normalized to an ASCII quote, to read credentials and configuration secrets, modify records, or drop tables.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
