Short explanation

NetEase Cloud Music Windows client contains a weak encryption vulnerability in /eapi/ and /xeapi/ endpoints due to the use of a fixed key, allowing the acceptance of forged API responses.

Why does it matter?

It enables attackers to construct forged API responses, serving as a prerequisite for further exploitation such as reaching the os.navigateExternal bridge.

What should be done?

  • Follow official vendor advisories.
  • Monitor network traffic for suspicious responses.
  • Update affected client versions.

Show the technical text from the sources

NetEase Cloud Music client for Windows (cloudmusic.exe) versions 3.1.38 and 3.1.39.205426 contains a weak encryption vulnerability where /eapi/ and /xeapi/ API response bodies are decrypted using a fixed, publicly documented AES-128-ECB key with no integrity credential. Attackers who can intercept or originate server responses can construct valid ciphertext under the known key with PKCS#7 padding, enabling the client to accept forged API responses that serve as a prerequisite for further exploitation such as reaching the os.navigateExternal bridge.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
