Short explanation

Quarkus LangChain4j versions contain a memory release issue in the chat-scopes WebSocket endpoint that allows unauthenticated remote clients to exhaust server memory.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability directly affects service availability, potentially leading to degraded server performance and loss of accessibility.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor security advisories
  • Check current status of affected components
  • Restrict access to WebSocket endpoints

Show the technical text from the sources

Quarkus LangChain4j 1.9.0 through 1.14.1 contains a missing release of memory vulnerability in the chat-scopes WebSocket /_chat/routes endpoint that allows unauthenticated remote clients to exhaust server memory. Attackers can send repeated CONNECT frames reusing one chatId, leaving orphaned scopes in activeScopes until the JVM exits and degrading availability.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
