Short explanation
Sunshine Photo Cart WordPress plugin before version 3.7.4 fails to verify if a visitor is permitted to access a restricted gallery during comment submission, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject content into restricted galleries.
Allowing unauthorized individuals to inject content with arbitrary author names and emails into password-protected, private, or expired galleries threatens data integrity and bypasses restricted area security.
What should be done?
- Follow the official vendor advisory to review updates
- Upgrade the plugin to a supported secure version
Chain of evidence and sources
Sunshine Photo Cart eklentisinin 3.7.4 öncesi sürümleri, yorum gönderimlerinde galeri erişim iznini kontrol etmemektedir.
Kimlik doğrulanmamış saldırganlar, kısıtlı galerilere seçilen yazar adı ve e-posta ile içerik enjekte edebilir.
Show the technical text from the sources
The Sunshine Photo Cart WordPress plugin before 3.7.4 does not check whether a visitor is permitted to access a restricted gallery before accepting comment submissions for its images, while it does perform that check when displaying comments, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject attacker-chosen content with a chosen author name and email into galleries the owner has restricted (password-protected, email-gated, private, account-only or expired).
