Short explanation
In Modula Image Gallery versions up to 3.0.11, the modula-gallery CPT registered with show_in_rest=true allows an unauthenticated user to query /wp-json/wp/v2/modula-gallery/{id} and obtain the plaintext password‑protect username and password from the modulaSettings field. This missing authorization exposes credentials for every published gallery.
Exposed credentials enable attackers to manipulate galleries and target site visitors.
What should be done?
- Monitor vendor advisories for a fixed release and apply it when available
- If possible, disable show_in_rest for the modula-gallery CPT
- Restrict access to the REST endpoint via authentication or capability checks
- Remove or mask modulaSettings data in custom REST responses
- Conduct a security review of other exposed REST endpoints
Chain of evidence and sources

Resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı; bir düzeltme mevcutsa vendor advisory izlenmelidir.
Show the technical text from the sources
The Modula Image Gallery – Photo Grid & Video Gallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.11 via the 'id (post ID in /wp-json/wp/v2/modula-gallery/{id}) or none for collection route' parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to extract the plaintext Password Protect password and username for every published gallery from the modulaSettings REST field. The plugin's own /wp-json/modula/v2/gallery/{id}/settings endpoint correctly redacts the password for unauthenticated callers via redact_settings_for_public(), but no equivalent redaction is applied on the core /wp-json/wp/v2/modula-gallery path exposed by show_in_rest=true CPT registration.
