Short explanation

Portal for ArcGIS versions 0‑12.2 are vulnerable because the administrative interface builds LDAP queries without proper input neutralization. An authenticated administrator can supply crafted input to alter the query and trigger unintended directory operations.

Why does it matter?

The flaw can lead to unauthorized disclosure of directory data and limited integrity tampering.

What should be done?

  • Review Esri security bulletin (S0)
  • Since patch status is unknown, follow vendor advisory (S0)
  • Sanitize all LDAP query inputs
  • Restrict administrator privileges to the minimum required
  • Apply updates promptly when released
Chain of evidence and sources3 verified claims
