Short explanation
An infinite loop in PgBouncer versions 1.20.0 through 1.26.0 allows a denial of service when an empty option name is present in startup options (S0).
Allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to saturate a CPU core and render PgBouncer unresponsive to all clients until the process is restarted (S0).
What should be done?
- Follow official vendor advisories and changelogs
- Keep PgBouncer updated
- Review process management and restart procedures
Chain of evidence and sources
PgBouncer 1.20.0 ile 1.26.0 sürümleri, başlangıç seçeneklerindeki boş parametre adı nedeniyle sonsuz döngüye karşı savunmasızdır.

Show the technical text from the sources
An infinite loop in PgBouncer 1.20.0 through 1.26.0 allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to cause a denial of service. A StartupMessage whose options parameter contains an empty parameter name, such as "-c=", makes the ignore_startup_parameters list lookup loop forever. Because PgBouncer serves all clients from a single process, this saturates a CPU core and makes PgBouncer unresponsive to all clients until the process is restarted.
