Short explanation

CVE-2026-105958 is a vulnerability in spice-server that causes heap out-of-bounds read and write operations due to unvalidated migration data offsets.

Why does it matter?

It allows a malicious authenticated client during VM live migration to read arbitrary heap memory or trigger heap corruption.

What should be done?

  • Follow official vendor advisories
  • Review GitLab merge requests
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

CVE-2026-105958 açığı, spice-server içinde yığın bellek üzerinde sınır dışı okuma ve yazmaya neden olur.

Göç verisi işleyicileri, SPICE_MSGC_MIGRATE_DATA mesajlarındaki offsetleri sınır denetimi yapmadan kullanmaktadır.

Show the technical text from the sources

A flaw was found in spice-server. Multiple migration data handlers use client-supplied offsets from SPICE_MSGC_MIGRATE_DATA messages without bounds validation, allowing a malicious authenticated SPICE client during VM live migration to read arbitrary heap memory or trigger heap corruption via out-of-bounds read and write operations on the message buffer.
