Short explanation

The Mang Board plugin for WordPress up to version 2.4.3 is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion via the <mode>_type parameter. Unauthenticated attackers can include and execute arbitrary PHP files on the server.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, or achieve code execution. On standard PHP installations, pearcmd.php can be leveraged to write and include payloads in a single request.

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory
  • Update the plugin
  • Monitor suspicious HTTP POST requests
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Mang Board eklentisinin 2.4.3 ve önceki sürümleri yerel dosya dahil etme güvenlik açığına sahiptir.

Kimlik doğrulaması olmayan saldırganlar, halka açık [mb_board] kısa kodunu işleyen sayfalara istek göndererek açığı istismar edebilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

The Mang Board plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.3 via the '<mode>_type (e.g. foo_type)' parameter parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to include and execute arbitrary .php files on the server, allowing the execution of any PHP code in those files. This can be used to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, or achieve code execution in cases where .php file types can be uploaded and included. Exploitation is trivial via an unauthenticated POST to any page rendering a public [mb_board] shortcode, as no nonce or capability check is enforced on the shortcode render path; on servers with a standard PHP installation, pearcmd.php can be leveraged to write and then include an attacker-controlled payload file in a single request.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
