Short explanation

The unauthenticated fetch-rss API endpoint in Misskey lacks rate limiting and response-size restrictions while performing synchronous XML parsing. This flaw allows attackers to trigger unbounded outbound HTTP requests and exhaust instance resources.

Why does it matter?

This unauthenticated vulnerability enables attackers to conduct denial of service attacks, amplify requests toward third-party servers, and probe network-reachable services.

What should be done?

  • Follow the vendor advisory for guidance
  • Apply available updates when possible
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Misskey uygulamasındaki unauthenticated fetch-rss API uç noktası oran sınırı ve boyut kısıtlamalarından yoksundur.

Zafiyet, kimlik doğrulaması olmaksızın dışarıya yönelik HTTP isteklerinin tetiklenmesine ve kaynak tükenmesine neden olabilir.

Show the technical text from the sources

Misskey is an open source, federated social media platform. From 12.112.1 until 2026.7.0, the unauthenticated fetch-rss API lacks rate limiting and response-size restrictions and performs synchronous XML parsing. An attacker can trigger unbounded outbound HTTP requests and synchronous parsing, exhausting instance resources, amplifying requests toward third-party servers, or probing network-reachable services even when federation is disabled. This issue is fixed in version 2026.7.0.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
