Short explanation

In Plane version 1.3.1 and earlier, missing object-level authorization checks in ProjectMemberViewSet.partial_update and ProjectMemberPreferenceEndpoint.patch allow project members or guests to modify other members' records.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability compromises membership management integrity within projects by allowing low-privileged users or guests to deactivate other members' records and tamper with their preferences.

What should be done?

  • Upgrade Plane to version 1.4.0 or higher
  • Follow vendor advisory if an immediate upgrade is not possible
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Plane 1.3.1 ve önceki sürümlerde nesne düzeyinde yetkilendirme kontrolleri eksiktir.

Yetkilendirme açığı CVE-2026-102985 için 1.4.0 sürümünde giderilmiştir.

Show the technical text from the sources

Plane is an open-source project management tool. In 1.3.1 and earlier, ProjectMemberViewSet.partial_update places its authorization checks inside the role update branch, so a guest or member can omit role and change another ProjectMember record's is_active field, including deactivating a project administrator. ProjectMemberPreferenceEndpoint.patch separately trusts the member_id path value and lets a project member overwrite another member's preferences. These missing object-level authorization checks permit membership disruption and cross-member preference tampering. The vulnerability is fixed in 1.4.0.

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
