Short explanation
The IPCameraFrameGrabber component in JavaCV parses the Content-Length value from HTTP responses from IP cameras without bounds checking. This can cause a 32-bit signed integer overflow and an infinite loop resulting in the calling application hanging.
This vulnerability allows attackers to create permanent denial of service conditions in target applications by manipulating network traffic or through compromised camera endpoints.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisory guidance
- Apply necessary updates
- Secure stream sources
Chain of evidence and sources
IPCameraFrameGrabber bileşeni Content-Length değerini sınır denetimi yapmadan ayrıştırır.
ensureBufferCapacity fonksiyonundaki denetimsiz çarpma işlemi 32-bit işaretli tam sayı taşmasına neden olur.
Show the technical text from the sources
JavaCV provides Java interfaces to OpenCV, FFmpeg, and other multimedia libraries. Prior to 1.5.14, IPCameraFrameGrabber doubles a 32-bit buffer capacity without checking for overflow or bounding the parsed Content-Length. An application consumes an MJPEG response from a malicious camera endpoint or a tampered plaintext stream. The source can return an oversized Content-Length header in an MJPEG stream. Successful exploitation can trap the frame-grabbing thread in a permanent CPU-spinning loop and deny service. This issue is fixed in version 1.5.14.
